Lee Chi-cheung was born in 1951 in Xiamen, Fujian Province, China and moved to Hong Kong the same year. Lee starts his artistic journey young. He received training in Chinese painting at Fan Fung Studio in 1968. In 1969 he participated in the Exhibition of Contemporary Hong Kong Art by City Museum & Art Gallery and has since then devoted himself to a career in art. Over the years, Lee has exhibited extensively in both Hong Kong, China and overseas receiving positive reviews.

Lee is a versatile painter and is particularly well known for his landscape paintings. The artist’s naturalistic landscapes, rich in their emotional climate are imbued with deep personal sentiments and a modern spirit, the viewers are immediately drawn into the peaceful and tranquil world the artist revealed. In Lee’s work both the simple and the sublime are equally to be relished.

Lee’s works are collected by numerous institutional and private collectors worldwide, including the Hong Kong Museum of Art, the University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd, Fortis Asia Holdings Ltd., Hong Kong Land,  the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hong Kong, Deacons Solrs and Notrs Public, Hong Kong, The Venetian Macau and The Peninsula, Bangkok, Thailand among many others.
