Looking at the work of Terence Tan, one finds the scenery soothing and contemplative, and before long you feel yourself taking a walk in nature. Terence is a talented contemporary Chinese ink painter who lives and works in Singapore. While exploring his relationship between man and nature, Terence is inspired by the urbanisation of the environment and his fine touches and intricate brush work depicted in his works amply reflect his engagement with nature through his senses. His works are mostly painted in Chinese ink on rice paper.

Terence obtained his Diploma in Fine Art from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 1990 and a Bachelor of Art (Design) with major in Multimedia from Curtin University of Technology in 1997. He pursued his Master in Electronic Arts from Middlesex University in 2004. He has learnt his art in Chinese ink painting from Singapore painter Tan Oe Pang.
